I was fit and healthy. I had a very active lifestyle. Then marriage and kids happened. Gym visits became rare and then non-existent. A back injury made tennis and other sports a non-starter. I started to put on weight. So slow that I didn't notice at first. By the time my daughter was 4, I had to buy bigger clothes. I wouldn't let anyone see me without a shirt on. Whenever I went swimming I wore a sun-shirt. And it's not because I was worried about the sun. Pecs had been replaced by man boobs. I had a dad-bod.
My wife was on a similar journey. We spoke about how much we hated it. Then we took action.
It took 8 weeks.
In that time I lost 18% of my total body weight. My old clothes fit again. I am 3kg lighter than I was when I first met my wife 11 years ago. My wife has lost 16% of her body mass. She is the same weight she was when we first met.
I also took positive action to deal with the back injury that has plagued me for years.
These pages are filled with information gained on our journey.
I hope they serve as inspiration for others.
